Milady Training

This certification trains licensed estheticians and cosmetologists to safely and confidently perform lash extensions. It combines the convenience of online learning with comprehensive in-person training from a Milady-certified instructor.

The certification includes:

• Access to the online lessons.
• One eight-hour day of in-person training with a Milady-certified instructor.
• Custom Milady Borboleta Eyelash Kit and mannequin head for additional practice. (Kits vary depending on which course option learners choose).
• Helpful assets: Reference materials, lash client chart, mapping cards, client consent forms, pro tips and tricks, and lash recommendation sheets for face, eye shape, and spacing.
• Milady Advanced Series Eyelashes textbook (depending on which course option learners choose).

Yes. The Milady Classic Eyelash Extensions Certification is brand-agnostic, meaning learners can use their preferred lash products.

Learners must be licensed cosmetologists or estheticians with an active, valid license.

• Online coursework, videos, quizzes, and final exam: Topics include eye and eyelash health, safety, and infection control; client consultations; choosing the right extensions; application techniques; and tips for building an eyelash business.
• In-person training: After completing the online coursework, learners will attend a one-day, in-person training with a Milady-certified instructor at a participating beauty school in Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, or Pennsylvania.
• Post-training photo submission: Learners must provide images of three to five eyelash sets completed on live models. The Milady-certified instructor will provide feedback. To qualify for the certification, learners must have three passing submissions.

In-person training will be available at participating beauty schools in four states: Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Learners are responsible for all travel expenses, such as transportation, lodging (if needed), and meals.

We want learners to receive as much 1:1 instruction as possible during the in-person training. Class size will be capped.

The in-person training schedule will vary from school to school and depend on the Milady-certified instructor's availability. The goal is to offer it up twice per quarter.

Not necessarily. The Milady Classic Eyelash Extensions Certification is a Milady certification, not a state license. As long as you have a valid cosmetology or esthetics license and are willing to travel to a state where in-person training is available, you should be able to complete the requirements for the Milady certification.

So, for example, if you're a licensed cosmetologist in Georgia and you're willing to travel to Florida for the in-person training, you can do so. (All learners are responsible for travel expenses, such as transportation, meals, and lodging).
